Mission and objectives

Energy efficiency is nowadays an increasingly important criterion in the design of industrial electrical energy conversion chains. Large gap semiconductors (SiC and GaN) present a very interesting solution for improving the efficiency and power density of static converters.

In this context, we offer a four to six month internship on the design of a 6kVA three-phase inverter based on discrete SiC components, integrated in an asynchronous machine. The student trainee will be integrated into a multidisciplinary R&D team and will participate in the theoretical study as well as the experimental validation of the results


- Establish the state of the art of WBG semiconductors

- Sizing of the inverter board taking into account the constraints related to the switching mesh (overvoltages, Miller effect, etc.)

- Consideration of thermal stress in the design of the converter- Design validation with simulations and experimental tests DPT

Training : Engineering School or University Master
Competences :

Coming from an engineering school or a Master 2 specializing in electrical engineering with in-depth knowledge in power electronics, you are autonomous and strong in proposals. You are proficient in LTspice software and PCB routing tools.

Duration : 4 to 6 month
